Carabao Cup Holders Manchester City will now have to defence their trophy against Arsenal, Explorenewsng reports. 

The Carabao Cup quarter-finals draw has put Mikel Arteta against his former boss Pep Guardiola.

The draw was announced after Arsenal defeated Liverpool on penalties to reach the next round.

Arteta won against Guardiola in the FA Cup semi-final last season and won the trophy.

The Spaniard will hope to repeat that again this season in the Cup.

The other quarter final match sees Everton host Manchester United.

Brentford will host Newcastle despite being in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup for the first time in their history.

Stoke City will host Premier league club Tottenham in the next round.

Tottenham’s last trophy was the English League Cup back in 2008 and Coach Jose Mourinho wants to end that drought.
