Barcelona outclassed Girona 3-1 in their preseason friendly match today which saw Lionel Messi score twice with Coutinho on target, explorenewsng reports.

First Half Report

Barcelona played host to Girona in their preseason match which was the first for Lionel Messi after off-field issues.

The first half of the encounter created a huge buzz with the goal scorers for the home team.

The first 45 minutes created two goals which came from Barca as It was a good game for them.

Philipe Coutinho opened the goal scoring with just 21 minutes played with the Brazilian showing he is back to stay.

The game progressed with both sides creating chances but no one was able to finish off.

Lionel Messi made it 2-0 in the 45th minute with a lovely goal to prove his loyalty to the new boss.

Second Half Report

The second 45 minutes saw the away side making something happen for themselves in the game.

It was more of a evenly contested second half which saw good attacking play of football from both sides.

Saiz pulled one back for Girona to make it 2-1 in the 46th minutes of the second half of the game.

Lionel Messi grabbed his brace in the 49th minutes to make it 3-1 for Barcelona with a stunning goal.

The match went on with few opportunities going by as none could hit the target for both teams.

It ended Barcelona 3-1 Girona as Ronald Koeman get his side underway for preparation for the new season.
