One of the favorites to win the Big Brother Naija 2020 Lockdown edition, Erica, was on Sunday disqualified from the show.
The actress who was the Head of House (HOH) got thrown out for breaking the rules of the competition. She had previously gotten two strikes for flouting the show’s rules, before getting a third Sunday evening, which preceded her disqualification.
Erica had on Saturday during the show’s customary party thrown insults at Laycon; the favorite for this year’s competition, over his claim that she tried to kiss him. She took it a step further threatening the life of the upcoming artiste. In a moment of sheer madness, she poured water on Deputy Head of House, Prince’s bed space, and engaged the production crew of the show.
Big Brother had read out the rules of the reality show while addressing the housemates on Sunday evening.
He said, “BBNaija rule book clearly states in Article 18 sub-section 1 that other types of violence, including provocation, goading, bullying, and victimization may be punished by Big Brother in any way Big Brother chooses.”
The drama that ensued on Saturday was a climax of the heat and tension between Erica and Laycon after the former had nominated the latter for eviction.
Erica who looked quite sober during the live show apologized to Biggie and the other housemates as she left the house after a hug from her bestie and lover in the house Kiddwaya.
In a related development, Lucy was evicted from the house after pulling the least votes last week. She would be remembered for her incessant nagging and series of complaints. It was not surprising she left the house without chivalry.
As it stands, eight contestants are left in the house. Laycon breezed past eviction with overwhelming support from his firm troops. Vee got spared as Erica got disqualified, Trikytee who is looking like the dark horse in this year’s reality show scaled through again while Nengi also survived this week.
The fifth season of the Big Brother Naija is scheduled to run for 71 days with a whopping N85 million up for grabs as the grand prize.
