WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is currently contracted to defend his title against former champion Deontay Wilder in December. However, that hasn’t stopped him from taking shots at his possible heavyweight opponent, Anthony Joshua.
Both Joshua and Fury have been put side-by-side throughout the years, often hinting at a viable matchup. Yet the duo is far from meeting each other inside the boxing ring.
While Fury is lined up against Deontay Wilder, Joshua is also slated to defend his world titles against Kubrat Pulev. Thus, the matchup between them is clearly off the charts for now. Meanwhile, ‘The Gypsy King’ has voiced his opinion on why the matchup has never materialized.
Tyson Fury lashes out at Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua once again
Queensberry Promotions interviewed Fury while he was the VIP guest for Dubois vs Snijders PPV.
The Gypsy King was asked to highlight the possibility of his upcoming opponents. Although Wilder and Fury are contracted to fight, there have been rumors about the bout being taken off the charts.
“I hope so, I am contracted to do it. So we will see what happens. Hopefully, we (Fury and Wilder) will meet in December. We are all looking forward to it, training hard,” said Fury.
However, while speaking about Anthony Joshua, Fury completely blamed Eddie Hearn and AJ for not putting the bout together. Frank Warren believes that Joshua has been ducking Fury throughout his career. And the WBC champion seems to agree with it.
“I think exactly the same. I said to AJ, I said to Eddie Hearn. Grow up, come sit, and let’s get it signed. You know I am number one in the division, lineal champion, Ring Magazine champion, WBC champion, only undefeated champion at the moment, so you know what time it is.”
AJ vs Fury: The fight for the ages
If materialized, the fight can be the biggest showdown in the history of British heavyweight boxing.
However, they need to get past their respective opponents in Wilder and Pulev shortly. After that, Fury and Joshua might lock horns in a blockbuster event.
