The University of Lagos (UNILAG) governing council has confirmed and ratified the election of Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the school.

The confirmation was made at a virtual meeting of the council today co-ordinated by the newly appointed interim chairman of UNILAG governing council, John Momoh.

The confirmation of Prof. Folasade Ogunsola was one of the first responsibilities assigned to Momoh by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The UNILAG crisis got to its zenith after the Vice-Chancellor of the school Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe was sacked by its governing council led by Wale Babalakin.

The road to recovery from the crisis started with President Buhari directing Wale Babalakin and Prof. Ogundipe to recuse themselves from official duties pending the outcome of the special visitation panel set up by the president.

Following the directive, the UNILAG senate met and elected Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the acting Vice-Chancellor.
