Tim Akinola, an English-born Nigerian youngster has signed for Arsenal and he is expected to play for the under 23 team from next season. The aim of developing into a first-team player in the coming years.

Tim Akinola who was released by Huddersfield struggled to break into the club’s senior team last season and even spent time at non-league side Brighouse Town F.C.

Despite his not very fantastic performance, Gunners transfer chiefs Per Mertesacker and Lee Herron decided to sign the youngster to the club without the usual trial after being impressed by video analysis of the youngster’s tough midfield performances.

The 19-year-old is eligible to play for England and Nigeria.
